Help - My Slime's Not Working!
You followed the recipe. You measured everything. And your slime is a sticky, runny disaster.
Take a deep breath. This happens to everyone, and most slime problems have simple fixes. We've handled thousands of slime-related questions at Bezzie, and 99% of them come down to one of the five issues below.

Problem 1: Slime Is Too Sticky
What it looks like: Slime sticks to your hands, the bowl, the table, and refuses to hold its shape.
Why it happens: Not enough slime activator. The polymer chains in the PVA glue aren't fully cross-linked, so the slime hasn't fully formed yet.
The fix: Add more Bezzie Slime Activator - but slowly. Add half a teaspoon at a time, knead the slime for 30 seconds, and check the texture. Repeat until the slime stops sticking to your hands and stretches cleanly.
Problem 2: Slime Is Too Stiff or Rubbery
What it looks like: Slime feels hard, tears when you try to stretch it, doesn't feel smooth.
Why it happens: Too much slime activator. Over-activated slime becomes tight and rubbery instead of stretchy.
The fix: Add a small splash of warm water to the slime and knead it in. The water loosens the cross-links between the polymer chains. Repeat until the slime feels smooth and stretchy again.
Prevention tip: Always add activator slowly. It's much easier to add more than to fix over-activated slime.

Problem 3: Slime Won't Come Together at All
What it looks like: You've added activator, but the mixture just sits there. No stretch, no slime.
Why it happens: Usually one of three things:
- Your PVA glue is old or dried out
- You didn't use PVA glue (some glues don't contain PVA)
- The activator is too weak or watered down
The fix: Check your glue is fresh PVA glue - it should be smooth and flow easily. If your activator is a homemade borax solution, try adding a stronger one like Bezzie, which is pre-mixed to the exact right concentration.

Problem 4: Slime Is Grainy or Lumpy
What it looks like: Slime feels bumpy, not smooth. You can see clumps of unmixed activator in the slime.
Why it happens: You added activator too quickly or didn't mix well enough before the activator started working.
The fix: Keep kneading. Grainy slime usually smooths out with 3 to 5 minutes of continuous kneading. If it's still lumpy after that, throw the batch away and start over - this time, add activator very slowly while stirring constantly.
Problem 5: Slime Has Gone Hard Overnight
What it looks like: You left slime out and now it's crusty or hard.
Why it happens: Slime dries out when left in open air. The water in the slime evaporates.
The fix: If it's only slightly dry, knead in a few drops of warm water. If it's fully hard, unfortunately, the slime is done.
Prevention tip: Always store slime in an airtight container. Bezzie slime stays soft and stretchy for around two weeks when stored properly.
The Golden Rule of Slime
Most slime problems come from adding too much activator too quickly. Slow down, add half a teaspoon at a time, and knead between each addition. It's the difference between perfect slime and a sticky nightmare.
The Slime Activator That Actually Works
The single biggest thing you can do to prevent slime problems is use a purpose-made slime activator. Random contact lens solutions, mystery detergents, and homemade borax mixes all have inconsistent strength - which is why so many home slime attempts fail.
Bezzie Slime Activator is a pre-mixed formula, kid-safe, and works every time. Over 800,000 TikTok followers can't be wrong.
